Textual Analysis of Album Advert

Here I have made a mood board of a selection of album release adverts. I mainly chose female artists as my band has a female lead so it would be more relative to what I plan to create. I did this to start to get some insight into the layout, styling, imagery and what text they include on album advertising.

I noticed that the main features are a picture of the artist, the name of the artist and the album name. Additional features include, the release date, pictures of the album, reviews, the music companies logos, where it is available to buy e.g. iTunes, a website of the artist and hit singles that are on the album. This research will help to design and create my own album advert because I now know what I should include.

I decided to get a bit more detailed research into album adverts, so I chose one of the adverts from the mood board I made above. I chose Beyonce's album because she is a female artist and I have a female lead to my band. I also like the imagery and appearance of the advert and album itself. I hope to learn from this analysis to learn about the layout, styling, imagery and what text they include on the album advert.

From this research, I have learnt that all the parts of the album and the advert have to all link together so that they are easy to recognise and have a strong identity. I have also learnt what I need to include on my own album advert (stated above). This research will be really beneficial to me when designing and creating my own album advert because of this. I like the way she has used a classy font to match with the classy design of the album, the images and the advert itself. I hope to link my text to my album and to link each section together so that they look united and have a strong identity like Beyonce's.
