I decided to do a textual analysis on a new artist's album front cover, back cover, album spine, inside cover and CD because I wanted to see what the modern day album features were like and included. Part of my coursework task is to design these parts of an album, so I decided to do this research to gain insight and inspiration to help me do so. I chose a female artist as my lead is a female so it would be more relevant to my work. I hope to learn about the features and the style of the album which will help me when designing and creating my own album.
From this research, I have learnt about the design and features of an album front cover, back cover, album spine, inside cover and CD. Above each of the images that I took of the album parts, I have written what I found out by looking at it and what each section includes. I also wrote why I thought that they made certain decisions on the album. I learnt that you need to link all the part of the album together to make them united. On this particular album they repeated the colour of the text, the font of the text and the floral design which they used for both the back cover and inside cover.
